One-Day International Cricket
This is where there is a limited amount of overs in which the team can score as many runs as possible. In the game there both teams get a single inning where they play 50 overs were the teams get to bat and bowl. The innings is over when the batting team finishes all 50 overs or the bowling team manages to bowl them all out. The first team batting sets the target score for the next team, if they don’t manage to beat the amount of runs scored, they lose. Each bowler is restricted to a maximum of 10 overs.
Test Cricket
This form of cricket is played between two national representative teams from different countries. There are four innings played, two for each team to bat and bowl. The teams are made up of eleven players and the overall test can take a maximum of five days. The first official recorded Test match was shared between England and Australia in 1877, this event was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. For every day of play there are three sessions’ two-hour sessions. First session is 11am-1pm, Second Session 1.40pm -3.40pm and the third session which is 4pm-6pm. There are four ways in which the innings can end; one being that the bowling teams bowls all the players on the batting team out. Second way is that the batting team’s captain elects to cease. Third way is the team batting the fourth innings was able to reach the required amount of runs. The last way is that the selected time for the match expires.
Twenty20 Cricket
This form of cricket involves two teams; both teams have a single innings to bat for a maximum of 20 overs. The average game takes around 3 and half hours to complete. This form of cricket was introduced in hope to create a more action packed lively game, so it may attract more spectators and TV viewers. The first official Tewnty20 games were played on the 13th of June, 2003. There are many Twenty 20 competitions like twenty20 international, the Twenty20 World cup and Twenty20 Worldwide.
